Summer Solstice Ritual tea
Summer is here! What better way to celebrate the wheel of the year turning than to gather some herbs and flowers and brew a beautiful and nourishing summertime tea? Partnering your solstice tea with your heartfelt desire for the summer is a powerful ritual.
Summer Solstice Solar Tea
- 1 Tablespoon organic Rose petals, fresh from UNSPRAYED garden roses that smell heavenly
- 1 teaspoon organic Mint, fresh or dried
- 1 teaspoon organic Lemon Balm, fresh or dried
Combine all the herbs in a mason jar. Bring water to a boil pour 2 cups over herbs and steep in the sunlight for a few hours or strain and enjoy immediately. Be sure that your herbs are clean before doing this.
This makes enough for two cups of tea. For iced tea, brew and then let chill. Add some bubbly water for a sparkle, and garnish with fresh herbs or berries.
Ritual
Make yourself some summertime tea on the day of the Solstice. As a ritual, use the tea to set some intentions for what you want to experience this season. Ask yourself what intention you might set to use the sun’s solar power to be lit from within this season. Once you feel very clear about your intention, write it on a piece of paper. Be specific. Add some colour, doodles, or a mandala.
Place your intention under the mason jar as it steeps allowing it to energetically infuse itself into your brew. When your solar tea has finished steeping, strain it and pour it into a beautiful mug or drinking vessel.
With each sip visualize your intention as reality. How would you feel? What action or non-action might you take after tea time? Allow your intention to seep into your physical being. Then witness yourself throughout the summer magically bring your intention into being.
Every intentional act is a magical act…
Happy Summer Solstice. If you are looking for me I will be sipping my tea under the shade of the plum tree…
